Tekla has two business areas, Building & Construction and Infra & Energy.

Tekla's Building & Construction business area (B&C) develops and markets Tekla Structures for information-model-based design of steel and concrete structures as well as the management of fabrication and construction.

Tekla B&C mainly serves four customer segments:

steel detailers and fabricators
construction companies and constructors
precast concrete fabricators
engineering offices

In 2008, Building & Construction stood for almost 80 percent of Tekla's total net sales. B&C's net sales are generated all over the world with customers in about 90 countries. The biggest market area of B&C is North America.

FabTrol Systems, Inc. has been the leading supplier of steel fabrication management software since 1984. The software (now called FabTrol MRP) is trusted by more than 1000 steel companies worldwide. The latest generation offers integrated estimating, drawing management, material management, production management, shipping management, and more.

Fabtrol’s dedicated product development department ensures that their software is serving customers well, keeping pace with new technologies and market requirements, and playing a key role in industry initiatives like the development of the KISS standard. Fabtrol is proud to have what they are certain is the best technical support team in the business, including several Microsoft Certified Professionals. They have also invested heavily in expanding their training and implementation capabilities with additional staff, a well-regarded training center at our corporate headquarters, and a regular slate of regional training events around North America.
